Making Gefilte fish

making Challah

In every Jewish household, there is a lot to be done, and children help a lot. But in a Chabad House, and especially in Japan, there is so much to do on an every day basis.
The Edery children help to measure and make tens of kilograms of Challah, package them, help with kosher food deliveries. They also travel by themselves to visit people in prison, even 2 hours away by train. They clean, peel, cut, and prepare for the many guests that come. When Rabbi and Mrs. Edery are busy tending and helping out, the children help the younger ones and watch them. They answer the phone, give directions, meet and pickup up guests and bring them to the Chabad Tokyo. They often escort Rabbi Binyomin on his many rounds: building sukot, blessing on the 4 species, Chanuka Mobile- giving out candles and chanuka treats, putting up mezuzot or just house visits.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Rabbi Avrohom Kenig who wakes up 4:30 am, Israel time to teach the children Torah!
The kids helped make 40 kg of Gefilte fish. This means peeling the skin, deboning, grinding and forming the fish. This is fresh Salmon from Tsukiji.
